One of the things I love best about the DFW area is that though the metroplex is basically one giant blob of smaller cities, each city still retains it's own personality and charm. Trey and Jamie were married at First Baptist Church Irving, TX- and I was surprised to see the old main street and quaint buildings. This wedding really had a small-town feel- the reception venue was literally right down the street- and I think that really added to the intimate feel of the day.

I loved photographing these two getting married. Trey definitely had some nerves before their first look, and Jamie- true to herself, laughed and enjoyed it all. They both cited seeing each other for the first time as their favorite moment. Thanks so much for having us, you two, and congratulations!

I was excited to photograph Trey + Jamie's engagement session after speaking with Jamie on the phone- knowing already that they were fun, easygoing people who were excited for photos. Then the SNOWPOCALYPSE happened.

Trey + Jamie had planned to drive into Lubbock for their session from Irving, but Dallas got dumped on that weekend. We kept thinking that it couldn't be as bad as the reports were saying, but over time, we realized it was actually worse! So, we rescheduled.

Thankfully, Shawn and I had plans to be in Dallas just a few weeks later and there we were able to shoot their Engagement session in the new (albeit freezing) Klyde Warren Park. It was cold. So cold I couldn't feel my fingers at times. I'm sure they were colder than I was. But they played to off so well, and I'm so thankful for these two enthusiastic people. Thanks so much for a great session, guys!

If I could describe this couple in one word, it would be genuine. These two are authentic- the real deal- honest, thoughtful, and fun. I LOVED getting to photograph them. I've known Julie for a while- and since meeting Nathan it's been clear that they are nothing short of each other's perfect match.

They were married at the most beautiful downtown Dallas location- the Venue at 400 North Ervay. The architectural detail, views from the rooftop, and reception space/dressing areas are just perfect for a wedding. They lined up a great cast of vendors, too, which made the day even more pleasurable. Please enjoy the photos from their day, plus some commentary from Julie!

Julie's favorite moment of the day:

Getting to do our first look. It was one of the only times the whole night that it was just me and Nathan. I really loved that he was one of the first people to see me in my wedding dress. We just had so much fun getting to spend that sweet time together, even if it was just for a few minutes.

Nathan's favorite moment:

After the ceremony, while everyone was still upstairs, having a few minutes to celebrate with Julie by ourselves while we were eating.

The reception was such a good time. These peeps can paaaaaaartay.
